I am a keen fan of the CVR(T) family of vehicles, tiny armoured fighting vehicles which the British have been using since the 1970s and are still (with some tweaks and upgrades) in service with the British Army today. Maybe its from having a diecast one as a toy as a child or maybe the fact it looks like a sports car of the tank world. Either way, getting some in 28mm was one of my goals.
After taking a look at Guaro3d (and doing some test prints), I eventually got my hands on the Bobmack3d BAOR kickstarter. As well as giving me a Tank-I-can-use-for-lesser-forces-that-I-don’t-want-to-be-using-Russian-kit and an APC-that-isn’t-a-M113-but-is-basically-the-same, it also gave me both the FV101 and FV107. One advantage of this kickstarters is that as well as giving you the “clean” version, there are also multiple variants with different levels of stowage.
I’m going to go into more details later on them (once I get a platoon of Bazi MBTs on the production line) but opinions so far are mostly positive.
The CVR(T) family is on the chopping block in the Albion Commonwealth’s armed forces, but for cash strapped princes in the Bazi Empire’s second largest member state, a few technical upgrades and well trained crews means these light tanks have become the workhorse of their efforts to crack down on insurgent groups and criminal elements.

Now, these CVRs are going to be Bazi Empire vehicles, specifically the Bazi Emirate. These guys are the underdogs of the Bazi Empire, a member state that doesn’t quite have the same oil wealth or back of the main kingdom. In my head, it’s very similar to Iran, combining older vehicle and aircraft with more recent upgrades. For this reason, after printing out the vehicles, I began looking for some tweaks to make them less 1970 and more 2020.
Enter TT Immersion – after chatting with them on the Spectre Community discord (and having purchased their Hell Mortar), they mentioned they were making some upgrade parts for bringing tanks up to date. As well as the sat antenna that has been given away for free on their gumroad, there are other pieces coming such as blue force tracker units. I will be waiting for them to arrive, as well as adding some tweaks of my own making (such as an extractor fan to avoid the issue of the Scorpion’s main gun in real life).
Expect to see more of these guys soon – the Bazi Emirate’s forces in Ultramodern Chain of Command are crying out for a Recce Section with these two in.
